This breed belongs to the working dogs. They are strong, powerful, athletic short-coated dog, strongly muscled, well boned and with high endurance.
American bulldogs are naturally alert, fearless, confident and agile. They have a strong instinct to be aggressive with other animals. If given the right training and proper socialization. They can behave properly and be affectionate towards children.
This breed has short and stiff coat. They can be in any color combination, except solid black, solid blue, or white with patches of black and tan.
Their coat does not require regular grooming. A coarse comb can be use whenever their coat starts to shed.
American bulldogs need a lot of exercise. Long walks, jogging, playing catch, agility or skills trials will keep them happy.
