This breed is known for their strength, loyalty, tenacity, intelligence, affection, sweetness and curiosity. They make an excellent loving and protective companion.
Proper training and socialization is necessary at early age. They must be socialized with other animals and children. A minimum amount of training will produce a tranquil, good, obedient, companion dog. They need a lot of exercise and consistent training.
American Pit Bull has short, single layered, and stiff but glossy coat. They are average shedder. The body is solidly built and muscular, with a wide chest. The head is wedge shaped with some slight forehead wrinkles. It needs minimal grooming. Remove dead and loose hairs periodically with a rubber brush.
