Border terrier is small rough coated terrier with wiry double coat. This breed belongs to the working animals but their adaptability makes them active family companions.

They are friendly, playful, affectionate and fun-loving. They can make good family pets and they get very well with children. It is loyal to its handler and good with children. This breed is ocassionally stubborn and they like to make their own decisions. However, they learn so quickly that makes training fairly simple process. They are independent dogs though, so it requires firmness and patience in their training, which should start early.

The Border terrier has a double coat consiting of a soft undercoat and harsh, wiry outer coat. Colors include red, wheat, or gray with gray markings. The coat needs to be stripped by hand once a week, as the top coat becomes long and shaggy and eventually dies.

The Border terrier is a very active dog and they have a lot of stamina that keeps them going as long as their owners require them to do so. This dog loves to run and play outdoors.
