Havanese is a small and sturdy dog. It has a double coat with different types, straight and curly. Coat colors are pure white to cream, black, silver, chocolate, or parti-colored. Havanese is a low shedder but they require regular brushing and combing, a minimum of twice a week. It is also important to check the eyes and ears regularly and keep them clean.

Havanese is intelligent, attentive, curious and playful. It is an excellent companion dog and it adores children. Their endearing personality makes them a lovely house pet.

The Havanese is always eager to learn. This dog is highly trainable. It is good both agility and obedience. This dog requires a good amount of exercise. It is an energetic dog and they love walking, outdoor playing and swimming.
