Saint Bernard originated from Switzerland. It is a large, powerful dog with a large head. It has medium size ears, brown eyes and broad and black nose. Saint Bernard has double coat, a dense undercoat and thick, straight outer coat. Colors may be red, brown, or brindle with white markings. Their coat shed twice a year. It requires daily brushing with a firm bristle brush to keep hair around the home down to a minimal amount.

The Saint Bernard is extremely loyal, fun-loving and affectionate dog. It is friendly to strangers and that makes them a poor guard dog but it barks at intruders. Saint Bernard is close to their family and it gets well with children and other pets.
This breed requires a moderate amount of exercise but making sure, they are protected from heat. It enjoys walking and play session. It is easy to train. and it will respond best to gentle, patient, firm, and consistent training.
